Ice Cream
October 27, 2012

I approach the taxi and ask if he is first. “Yep” in a tone commensurate with as much energy as a slug crawling across salt in a garden. He takes me home without a word and a surprise when I tip him. Even I was surprised I tipped.

We all need reassurance no matter how we feel. It’s nice when it comes from a source least expected. It becomes more meaningful.

Like getting ice cream when you’re a child. A reward for who you are.

There’s nothing like someone who loves.

We’re all dancing on the dance floor, and we’re all expressing how we feel and who we are. He has his shirt off. He’s dancing to who he is, but not to the music. When the tune changes and then the beat  is adjusted, he repeats the formula he has in his mind. It’s the pattern he loves and adores. It’s not necessarily the music, but it’s what he knows and feels comfortable with as he sees himself.

We all do it. It’s human nature.

We’re looking for acceptance on our level of being. We express. We want .

Is it accepted or rejected? We’re only looking for acceptance.

It’s so important to us, only, because it’s root base is love.

In the end, it’s only love we want.
